Wet Mist & Particulates

       Air Testing

Oil mist & other wet mists testing in Ireland.  Airborne concentration is determined by drawing a known flow rate of air through Charcoal filter-media tubes for a specific amount of time.  Samples are collected on-site using static pumps & mobile samplers for individual personnel while they are at their work station.

Wet Sampling -  Oil Mist in Air

    Sample Collection Service

Oil Mist test determination by NIOSH 1500 Method.  Charcoal sampling tubes are prepared and then examined by Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry to determine the quantities of Oil Mist & identities of other chemicals present.  The powerful analytical tool of Mass Spectrometry can accurately identify VOC’c & other  chemicals that may be in the air.

Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) analysis can provide unambiguous and sensitive detection for other chemical compounds at low concentrations .

Use EMIR’s GC/MS chemical testing lab in Ireland to identify organic thin-film contamination on products that may interfere with finished quality or even halt production of a manufacturing process.

Air quality testing service collects airborne particulates onto filters suitable for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) testing.

The Chemical testing of particulates viewed under SEM is performed by Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS)

Air Particulates Imaged By SEM

Air Particulates Identified By EDS

Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) is used to make SEM movies and to image & accurately measure particulates that are  suspended in the air.

Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) microanalysis can determine the chemical makeup of microscopic airborne particulates to test air quality.

Our trained staff will come to your place of business to collect air samples over the course of 1 to 8 hours using both static and mobile units which can be worn by individuals at their work station.

Samples are then brought back to our laboratory where they are tested in Ireland to provide the client with reduced turn-around time and a  faster service  -  No more time wasted shipping samples to the UK or even further for analysis!

Normal turn-around times from test to results are from 3 to 5 days.  Some tests allow for more rapid turn-around times and are available to suit client’s needs when specially requested.

We can also analyse test medias collected by other air quality testing services or from your own in-house safety inspections.

The powerful micro-analytical tool combination of Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, and Mass Spectrometry all under one roof at our location offer an incredible ability to analyse airborne particulates and wet mists to give clear and unambiguous test results for invisible environmental hazards.
